River Marked by Patricia Briggs

River Marked (Mercy Thompson, Book 6)River Marked (Mercy Thompson, Book 6) does not disappoint and is absolutely worth cost of the hardcover book. Mercy is at the top of my top ten list of kick ass female protagonists. She strong, independent, and super powerful without coming off as a comic book superhero. Mercy has flaws and bad moods and losing battles...but never the war.

Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, Book 5)After the love triangle between Mercy, Sam, and Adam in previous books, River Marked finally gives some good old fashioned romance between Mercy and Adam, the man/werewolf she's chosen to love. The reader finally gets to see the two of them spend some real quality time together to build their relationship, taking it to the next level.
Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson, Book 4)
I know what you're thinking: what about all the great action of the other books? Don't worry, just because Mercy and Adam are side-by-side for most of the book doesn't mean there isn't lots and lots of ass kicking with Mercy right there on the front lines.

While some of my grrlfriends have complained about the absence of some of their fave characters in River Marked, I thought showcasing Mercy and Adam's relationship by taking them away from the big cast of characters worked perfectly at this point in the series because, let's face it, Mercy and Adam wouldn't be able to spend all the quality, romantic time together if the gang was with them. Besides, the gang will be there in the next book and the next...

Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson, Book 3)The second best part of River Marked (after all the romantic junk between Mercy and Adam) is that Mercy's heritage and her mysterious father is explored--not fully, but enough to wet your appetite. That's the thing with Briggs, she always knows how to make you want to come back for more.
